Privacy policy
What we keep, and why
The short version
- We store what you put in Life so you and your people can see it.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.
- Google Calendar data is used only to show and sync your events.
- You can export all your data from the app at any time.
- You can ask us to delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Life is made by [your name or company], [address, Denmark]. We are the data controller for the information in the app. Contact: [privacy@your-domain].
What we collect
| What | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email, password (stored encrypted), display name, colour | To sign you in and show who did what |
| Your content | Tasks, events, grocery items, lists and notes, meals, chores, habits, dog log, add-on data such as trips, budgets and birthdays | It's the app. We store it so it syncs between your devices and your space |
| Photos you add | Profile pictures, memories, receipts | To show them to you and your space. Stored privately, never public links |
| Google Calendar | Calendar list, events, a sign-in token | To show and sync your events (see below) |
| Device settings | Reminder times, cached data on your phone | Reminders run on your phone. The cache makes the app fast offline |
We don't collect your location, contacts, or advertising IDs, and we don't use analytics or crash-reporting services.
Google Calendar
If you connect Google, Life asks for your email address and access to your calendars. We use this only to show your events in Life, and to create or update events you add in Life. We store a refresh token so syncing keeps working; it's held on our server and never shown to other users.
Life's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google data for ads, don't sell it, and don't let humans read it except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires.
You can disconnect at any time in the app or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you do, we delete the stored token.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored with Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage), hosted in [region, e.g. EU (Frankfurt)]. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Google processes calendar data under its own terms when you connect it.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. If you delete something, it's deleted from our database. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Content you shared in a space may stay visible to its other members until they remove it or the space is deleted.
Your rights
You can export your data yourself at any time: in the app go to Us & settings, then Your data, then Export my data. You get a .zip with spreadsheets, a full backup, your calendar and your photos.
Under the GDPR you can also ask to see, correct or delete your data, and object to how we use it. Write to [privacy@your-domain]. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
Our legal basis is the contract with you (providing the app) and, for Google Calendar, your consent, which you can withdraw by disconnecting.
Children
Life is not meant for children under 13 [or 15/16, check], and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
